Students can apply through the DSA-Sec Portal. There are no application fees.
If you are unable to apply online, approach your child’s primary school for assistance.
If both parents are unable to submit the application form personally at school in May, you have to nominate another adult to do so using this proxy form. You can also use the same form to appoint a proxy to submit your child’s school preference form in October.
Preparing students for DSA-Sec involves a multifaceted approach to showcase a student’s skills, achievements, and potential for a particular school.
Here’s how STEM Genius assist our students in preparing for DSA-Sec:
We help students create a portfolio highlighting their achievements in coding and robotics. This include project work, competition wins, innovative solutions, or any significant contributions in these fields.
Offering additional classes, workshops, or projects specifically aimed at enhancing the coding and robotics skills of students to make their applications stronger.
Providing mentorship from teachers or industry professionals who can offer recommendations or testimonials, reinforcing the student's capabilities and dedication in coding and robotics.
Providing opportunities for students to practice presenting their work in front of peers, teachers, or mentors, allowing them to refine their presentation skills in a supportive environment.
Encouraging participation in competitions, hackathons, or exhibitions where students can display their coding and robotics projects, gaining recognition and building a track record of accomplishments.
Fostering personal growth by focusing on communication skills, teamwork, and leadership qualities, as these are often valued by secondary schools looking for well-rounded individuals.
By combining these strategies, STEM Genius can help students present themselves effectively for DSA for secondary schools, demonstrating their passion, skills, and potential in coding, robotics, and related fields.
